Red Cedar Timeline
This tour is a timeline spanning 10 weeks of the Red Cedar River. Each stop represents the Monday of each consecutive week, during which River height was measured accompanying a photo of two locations. One location is the bridge on Farm Lane and the other is the park at Mount Hope and Okemos road. The hypothesis is an area where vegetation (i.e. trees) have been removed (Mount Hope and Okemos Park location) the chances of flooding will be greater than an area where the natural vegetation has been left intact (Farm Lane Bridge location). Information given at each stop is based on weekly observations and precipitation data, which was gathered from www.weather.com based on East Lansing and Okemos location, analyzed based on weekly accumulation.
