Asian Americans at MSU

By AsianAmericanHistory

For more than a century, Asian American and Asian International students have studied, created communities, and engaged in protests at Michigan State University. However, Asian American histories at MSU have long been hidden and the Asian American presence has long been overlooked. This walking tour puts Asian Americans at MSU back on the map.

The tour takes approximately one and a half hours to complete. Some stops such as the Hmong Story Cloths and the Vincent Chin room are only open to visitors by appointment. Please check the contact information under each entry if you would like to view these stops.

This tour was created as part of a fall 2014 Asian American History course by Matt Adler, Kaitlin Allen, Audrey Beaumarchais, Viktor Chen, Tim Christensen, Rachel Collis, Elizabeth Foland, Dominic Goyette, Courtney Holts, Rachel Huang, William Kang, Tom Kladis, Kate Klemm, Hyewon Lee, Hannah Lensing, Thomas Liss, Jesse Lu, Ruipeng Lu, David Reed, Christen Richardson, Mikayla Robinson, John Seno, Paul Simpson, Hannah Tresize, CJ Valle, Chelsea VanCamp, and Monica Watt. The course was taught by Anna Pegler-Gordon.
